SUZHOU, CHINA — September 2026 — YAKCO, as a Wholesale Rock Design Melamine Board Manufacturers, Factory, is expanding the possibilities of decorative surface design with its YAKCO Rock Design Melamine Board, a surface solution inspired by the visual depth and tactile character of natural stone.

Stone has long been associated with architectural permanence and premium interiors. Yet for modern furniture and interior applications, designers increasingly need surfaces that can deliver the visual richness of stone while offering greater consistency, easier processing, and practical performance in everyday use.

YAKCO Rock Design Melamine Board is developed around this balance.

From Stone Appearance to Tactile Depth

The defining feature of the Rock Design collection is its emphasis on more than visual imitation.

Inspired by surfaces such as marble, granite, slate, travertine, sandstone and other mineral textures, YAKCO combines carefully developed decorative patterns with deep embossed structures to create a more dimensional surface experience.

The result is a surface that is designed to work from two perspectives: what the eye sees and what the hand feels.

Deep embossing enhances the relief and shadow of the stone-inspired pattern, while synchronized texture matching helps align the surface structure with the visual grain. This approach gives the board a more integrated and realistic appearance, particularly when used across larger furniture faces, cabinet doors, wall applications and other continuous surfaces.

Designed for Modern Furniture and Interior Applications

Rather than simply reproducing the look of stone, YAKCO Rock Design Melamine Board translates stone-inspired aesthetics into a more furniture-oriented material format.

Its decorative character can be applied across a range of contemporary spaces, including:

  • High-end residential interiors
  • Custom furniture and cabinetry
  • Hospitality and hotel interiors
  • Commercial and retail spaces
  • Feature walls and decorative surfaces
  • Furniture fronts and architectural details

This makes Rock Design a practical option for projects where designers want the visual language of natural stone without relying exclusively on conventional stone materials.

Engineering Surface Aesthetics for Everyday Use

A premium decorative surface also needs to perform beyond its appearance.

YAKCO’s surface-decorated particleboard platform has been evaluated through Test Report No. 25-0494, issued by the Wood & Wooden Product Testing Center of Nanjing Forestry University. The tested product was an 18 mm double-finish surface-decorated PB sample, with testing covering mechanical properties and a range of surface-performance characteristics.

The report records passing results for resistance to high-low temperature cycles, surface scratching, surface wearing, cigarette burns, dry heat, surface staining, cracking and vapor. The measured wear value was 57 mg/100r, against a permitted value of ≤80 mg/100r, while the surface scratching test passed at 1.50 N. The report also records Grade 5 performance for dry heat, cracking and vapor resistance, and Grade 4 for cigarette-burn and surface-staining resistance.
These results provide a performance reference for YAKCO’s surface-decorated PB solutions, supporting the company’s focus on combining decorative freedom with practical surface durability.

Natural Inspiration, Industrial Consistency

One of the challenges of natural stone is its inherent variation. For furniture and interior production, however, designers and manufacturers often require greater consistency across repeated applications.

YAKCO Rock Design Melamine Board approaches this challenge through controlled decorative reproduction and engineered embossing. The objective is not to eliminate the character of stone, but to make its visual and tactile language more adaptable to modern manufacturing.

This creates a different relationship between natural inspiration and industrial production: the character of stone, translated into a consistent decorative board format.

Expanding the Language of Decorative Surfaces

As interior design continues to move toward more tactile and material-driven aesthetics, decorative boards are evolving beyond flat visual patterns.

Deep textures, synchronized embossing and realistic material reproduction are becoming increasingly important in creating surfaces that feel more authentic and distinctive.

With YAKCO Rock Design Melamine Board, YAKCO aims to bring the depth, structure and mineral character of natural stone into a format designed for contemporary furniture and interior applications.

YAKCO — From looking like it to feeling like it.
