0.6 mm deep embossed texture brings walls to life

In contemporary interior design, the character of a wall often determines the character of an entire space. Yakco has newly launched its “Nanmu Wave Grain” 3D deep-embossed decorative panel.

With the warmth of nanmu as its soul, the dynamism of waves as its form, and a fusion of black-gold luxury and 3D relief texture, it breaks through the flat limitations of traditional decorative panels, offering a new surface choice that combines visual appeal and practicality for high-end residences, commercial spaces, and custom furniture.

An Oriental Narrative on a Single Panel

The name “Nanmu Wave Grain” itself implies its design logic. Nanmu symbolizes oriental elegance and lasting durability, echoing the delicate texture of the 3D embossing.

The wave pattern draws on the dynamism of nature, using flowing lines to balance the stillness of nanmu, combining oriental philosophical imagery with modern aesthetic expression.

In terms of color, this design adopts a black-and-gold contrasting scheme.

Black forms the base, calm and restrained; gold veins flow through it like water waves, luxurious yet not ostentatious. This color combination carries an inherent sense of sophistication.

It can adapt to the subtle aura of New Chinese-style spaces while also blending into diverse styles such as minimalism, light luxury, and Italian design, making it a true “texture statement” in design.

0.6 mm Deep Embossing: Visible and Touchable

The core competitiveness of “Nanmu Wave Grain” lies in Yakco’s proud 3D deep-embossing technology. The surface texture depth of traditional melamine-faced panels usually ranges from 0.1 to 0.25 mm.

Even high-end products on the market mostly remain at the level of 0.3 to 0.5 mm. Relying on China’s first 4'×11' fully automatic melamine 3D deep-texture surface laminating line, Yakco has successfully pushed the texture depth to 0.8 mm, far exceeding conventional industry levels.

What does this mean?

When fingers glide across the surface of “Nanmu Wave Grain,” what they feel is not a thin printed pattern, but clearly distinguishable relief texture—the rise and fall of the waves have real variations in depth, and the nanmu grain provides delicate tactile feedback.

The black areas are warm and smooth, while the gold waves carry subtle three-dimensional undulations. When light falls on them, the alternation of light and shadow makes the wall seem to breathe.

This effect benefits from Yakco’s Embossed-in-Register (EIR) technology, which precisely aligns the surface relief structure with the decorative paper pattern.

Texture and pattern no longer operate separately but merge into one, truly achieving “what you see is what you feel.”

Performance Beyond Good Looks

Beyond aesthetics, the “Nanmu Wave Grain” decorative panel also withstands the test of daily use.

The product can be adapted to various substrates such as LSB, OSB, MDF, HMR MDF, particleboard, and fire-retardant MDF, meeting the structural stability requirements of different scenarios.

Yakco’s surface-decorated particleboard platform has been tested by the Wood and Wood Products Testing Center of Nanjing Forestry University. Its measured abrasion value is 57 mg/100r, far better than the allowable standard of ≤80 mg/100r.

It passed the surface scratch test at 1.50N and received a Grade 5 rating for dry heat, cracking, and steam resistance, and a Grade 4 rating for cigarette burn and surface contamination resistance.

In terms of environmental performance, the product can be combined with MDI eco-adhesive technology, with formaldehyde emission as low as 0.012 mg/m³, meeting the latest European E0.5 environmental standard.

It is particularly suitable for bedrooms, children’s rooms, and other spaces with high air quality requirements.

Application Scenarios: Multiple Possibilities for a Single Wall

The “Nanmu Wave Grain” 3D deep-embossed decorative panel is highly flexible in application. In residential spaces, it is suitable for TV background walls, headboard walls, or entryway feature walls.

The black-gold color scheme and three-dimensional texture can immediately establish a high-end tone for the space.

In commercial spaces, corridor facades of boutique hotels, display walls of high-end retail stores, and reception area backdrops of office spaces can all use this panel to create a unique visual memory point.

For custom furniture, “Nanmu Wave Grain” can be applied to wardrobe doors, cabinet fronts, and display cabinet facades.

The 0.6 mm deep-embossed surface is especially effective on door panel dimensions—when cabinet doors are connected as a whole, the wave texture forms a continuous rhythm under light and shadow, elevating the entire cabinet from a “storage tool” to “space decoration.”

Compared with natural stone or solid wood carving, this product maintains a highly realistic visual effect while offering comprehensive advantages such as controllable color difference, convenient installation, and better cost-effectiveness.

Conclusion

At a time when the decorative panel industry is transforming from “flat printing” to “three-dimensional touch,” Yakco “Nanmu Wave Grain” takes oriental nanmu as its spiritual core, black-gold waves as its visual language, and 0.6 mm deep embossing as its technical foundation.

It provides a wall solution that both respects natural aesthetics and adapts to modern manufacturing logic.

It does not attempt to replicate a nanmu tree, but instead allows the character of nanmu to grow anew in modern spaces.
